STORIES OF THE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE FIRE SERVICE CONTINUE: This day, last year, upon entry, my son, Lt. Thomas Russell Mann Jr along with firefighter Blake Osborne found a man overcome by smoke inside this house. At the time of this picture, my son and Pvt. Osborne were inside the burning structure trying to remove the unconscious victim. Despite the efforts of my son and his Williamson County Fire Protection District team members to save the fire victim, the man did not survive. The reality of the life of a firefighter is that the faces, moments, and places never go away. Sometimes you wish the 911 call came sooner so you could arrive a few minutes earlier. But you gave your best! Part of the job... you never forget.
